Welcome new Humana members!
We want to help you make good use of the benefits of your plan. You can manage and improve the health of your family by using a wide range of health living and well-‐being resources available. To help you and your family start living a healthier, more rewarding life, here are three things to accomplish this month.
- Make an appointment with your primary care physician for your preventive care checkup. This visit gives your doctor a chance to get to know you so he or she can be a true partner in helping you achieve lifelong well-‐being. Remember, with your benefits, there is no cost for a preventive care checkup. Don’t have a primary care physician? Go to our Physician Finder to find a doctor who best suits your needs.
- Register for MyHumana. Once registered, you can check your claims, get a summary of your benefits, pay your bill online, or, using your phone, view and print your Humana member ID card, and more.
- Decide how much you want to pay. Why not set up a recurring payment? While your payment may be paid every month by check, cash, money order or phone, why not set up an automatic recurring payment? Learn more at Humana.com/payinfo.
Get the most of your Humana healthcare plan
For no additional cost, your healthcare plan gives you access to services designed to help you maintain your health and well-‐being. Take a moment to answer a short survey so we can identify health resources that may be a good fit for you and your family.
Emergency room vs. primary care doctor
When you are facing a life-threatening situation, you should always head to the emergency room. However, when it isn’t an emergency, heading to the emergency room shouldn’t be your first thought. Your best choice whenever you need routine care is your primary care doctor’s office. Your primary care doctor can coordinate your care with other medical providers, monitor your medicines closely, refer you to a specialist when you need one, and coordinate your admission to the hospital for non-emergency care. Follow this link to learn more about primary care doctors and how to find one in Humana’s network.
Striving to be your Five-Star Qualified Health Plan
As a Humana member, you and your opinion matter to us. You may receive a Qualified Health Plan Enrollee Experience Survey in the mail. If you do, we encourage you to take the time to fill it out and give your honest opinion. The results of these surveys play an important role in rating Humana’s plans. These ratings are called Star ratings. The highest rating a plan can get is five stars. Go here for more information on qualified health plans.
Thanks again for being part of the Humana family. As one of the most-chosen health plans, we want to be the best we can be. In fact, we want to be your five-star plan!
