Samsung Health App not a connectable device anymore

I have an android phone an I updated the app multiple times as instructed since 11/10 and my steps have not been accounted for since then. I realized I did not have a device connected anymore and when I tried to connect my Samsung health app that was not an option at all. So now I am missing 8 days worth of steps and I am in a step challenge with my company and I have 0 steps which is very frustrating. What can be done to fix this? I don't understand why Samsung Health just disappeared.
