Why do I have to put in a code sent to my email to get into my Go 365 acct everytime now for several weeks?

My username and fingerprint are no longer enough to get into my acct.  It says it does not recognize my device and sends me to my email for a code I must type in and then return to sign in...I thought it might temporary after an update, but it's been weeks now.
