Samsung Galaxy Active 2 steps not being synced

So, my step count is consistently short.  I have a Samsung Galaxy s10 plus and a Samsung Galaxy Active 2 watch.  I don't carry my phone with me all day but I do consistently wear my watch.  Go365 says they take the highest of the step count between the phone and the watch, but that isn't the case for me.   If that was true then I would have between 2k-5k more steps daily. Please advise how I can get this corrected?
